Using the past and the future to understand the NOW can be extremely helpful on your healing journey but getting stuck in either chokes the process.
If you find that you're falling into this trap, try an exercise called "presencing". Only takes a few minutes and all it requires is that you knowingly release all thoughts of past and future and give your full attention to your surroundings.
